BMV Properties- What are these?

Everybody in the property market are now talking about BMV Properties, but what are they?
Below Market Value (BMV) Properties are properties that are sold under their Open Market Value (OMV). This enables property investors to build up their portfolios with out putting down a deposit, in fact if the discount is enough they could even rise capital on the property.

This is good news for investors but not for the people who are having to sell their house as usually they are having to to sell quick because of financial problems or they cannot sell their house on the open market. Admittedly some of the discount will still enable the owners to sell at a profit from the price they paid for the property.

The downside to this activity is that if house prices continue to fall you yourself may end up with a Below Market Value property!
